DESCRIPTION:View the full job description and apply: HS Explainer | PACE Program \nHigh School Explainer – Explainers work on the museum floor with visitors\, exploring hands-on exhibits\, facilitating demonstrations\, answering questions\, and tending to other duties. Explainers observe and explore their own learning processes as they are introduced to broad concepts in a range of scientific disciplines. While they provide a valuable service to the Exploratorium and its visitors\, Explainers cultivate their own communication and leadership skills\, expand on their scientific knowledge\, and learn from each other via peer mentorship. This is a paid position at $18.93/hour\, and will be expected to work 2-3 days per week. \nPACE Program – The PACE Program (Professional Advancement & Career Exposure) is designed to provide young people between the ages of 17-21 with supplemental museum work experience. Explainers are exposed to a variety of museum disciplines while supporting the High School Explainer program in its core mission of providing an interactive social environment rich in both science and the arts in which students can explore phenomena\, learn about themselves\, and provide the museum with an informed and energetic floor staff. This is a paid position at $19.18/hour\, and participants are required to work a minimum of 3 days a week for around 19.5-24 hours per week.
