SUMMARY:Empowerment Academy
DESCRIPTION:Project Glimmer’s virtual academy will run for 6-weeks with 6 sessions total\, and will be held over Zoom\, on Tuesdays from 4-6pm. The focus will be on goal-setting\, presentation skills\, and self-reflection. The results demonstrate increased self-confidence\, fueling early ambition and vision for an empowered future. At the completion of this program\, you will walk away with a plan and new set of tools and knowledge that will move you towards goal setting\, self confidence\, and financial literacy. Participants will receive a $500 stipend at the completion of the program (contingent with attendance\, having your camera on during meetings\, and completion of homework assignments). Open to current and incoming female identifying high school 10th\, 11th\, or 12th graders that are able to attend all of the above dates. Applications are due by Thursday\, January 2nd.

DESCRIPTION:Join thousands in honoring the Selma\, Alabama\, to Montgomery\, Alabama marches and the Voting Rights Act of 1965 by experiencing the MLK2025 commemorative march/parade from San Francisco’s Caltrain Station to Yerba Buena Gardens. The 1.5 mile journey crosses the Lefty O’Doul Bridge and stops at Willie Mays Plaza at AT&T Park to commemorate the crossing of the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma\, a symbol of violence and victory in the civil rights movement.
